Common questions
I've lost my only key, can you still get me in?+
Yes, and usually without any damage. Once you're back in I'll sort the lock so the lost key is useless and cut you new keys.
Should I change the lock, or can you just rekey it?+
Either works. Rekeying changes the lock so the old key won't turn, which is often cheaper, or I can replace the cylinder or lock outright. I'll explain which makes sense for your door.
My keys had my address on them, does that change anything?+
It's all the more reason to sort it the same day. If someone has both your keys and your address, rekeying or replacing the lock straight away is the only safe move.
Can you cut me a spare set while you're here?+
Yes. I'll leave you with a full set of working keys, and cut extras on the spot if you want spares.

Why lost keys are a security problem, not just a hassle
A lost key isn't only inconvenient. Whoever finds it can walk straight in, and if it was on a fob or in a bag with an address, they know exactly which door it opens. That's why I don't just get you back in and leave it there.
What I do
First I get you into the property, without damage wherever I can. Then I either rekey the lock, which changes it so the missing key no longer works, or replace the cylinder or lock entirely, and cut you a fresh set of keys before I leave. Same day, so you can stop worrying about who's got the old one.
