Hi, I’m Andy
Hi, I’m Andy. I’ve been running my own businesses for over 12 years now.
I started NOPAS here in Poole as a Locksmith business helping with lockouts, lock changes, uPVC and burglary repairs and smart locks, for homes and landlords.
I’m a qualified locksmith, I hold the NCFE Advanced Certificate in Locksmithing (Level 4). When you call, you get me or one of my own engineers, never an agency stranger turning up unsure of the price. Between my team we’ve four decades in the trade, every one of us is DBS checked, and I’m rated 9.96/10 on Checkatrade. Go and read the reviews before you ring me.
No call-out fee and I will I tell you the price before I start.
Blandford questions I get asked
Can you change a lock on a listed Georgian building in the conservation area?+
Yes, and it takes a careful hand. I match the lock to the door, keep the original ironmongery where I can, and fit British Standard locks that pass insurance without spoiling a listed building. If listed-building consent is needed I'll talk you through it.
My uPVC door has dropped and won't lock, do I need a new one?+
Almost never. A dropped door is usually an adjustment and a realign, or a gearbox, not a replacement. I carry the parts to sort it the same visit.
Do you cover the villages around Blandford?+
Yes, Pimperne, Bryanston, Charlton Marshall, Spetisbury and the rest. If you're in the DT11 postcode, you're on my patch.
How long does it take you to get to Blandford?+
Usually 40 to 50 minutes from Poole, as it's the furthest inland part of my area. I'll give you an honest time when you call.
Need me in Blandford now?
Give me a ring. It’s the quickest way to get to you, usually 15 to 30 minutes, any time of day. Can’t talk? Leave your number and I’ll call you straight back. No call-out fee either way.

Ask Andy to call you back
I'm Andy, and I cover Blandford Forum and the DT11 postcode from my Poole base, the Georgian town itself, Blandford St Mary, and the surrounding villages like Pimperne, Charlton Marshall and Spetisbury. You get me or one of my own engineers, never an agency stranger turning up unsure of the job.
Blandford is one of the finest Georgian towns in the country, rebuilt almost entirely in the classical style after the great fire of 1731, and the conservation centre is full of listed buildings on heavy period timber doors. Those want a locksmith who'll fit the right lock sympathetically and keep the original ironmongery, not drill the character out of them. Out at Blandford St Mary and the newer housing, and around Bryanston and the villages, it's the more usual uPVC and composite doors on multipoint locks. I carry parts and locks for both the period and the modern.
What I get called out for in Blandford
The common ones here are:
- Careful lock changes on listed and period doors in the conservation area
- Lockouts in the town and the surrounding villages
- uPVC and composite faults on the newer housing
- Lock changes for new homeowners and rural properties
- Burglary repairs and making a property safe after a break-in
How I cover Blandford
Blandford is the furthest inland part of my patch, so I'm usually with people there inside 40 to 50 minutes from Poole. I'll always give you an honest time when you call rather than a number that sounds good.
I cover Blandford Forum, Blandford St Mary, Pimperne, Bryanston, Charlton Marshall and Spetisbury. If you're in DT11, you're on my patch.
A recent Blandford call-out
I was called out to a property in the centre of Blandford, one of the lovely old period places, where the customer had lost their only key and was locked out. On a building like that the last thing you want is a locksmith drilling and damaging an original door, so I always take my time and look for the careful way in first.
After checking the property over I was able to pick the lock and open the door cleanly, no damage to the door or the original ironmongery. I then talked the customer through fitting a British Standard lock that would keep it secure and insurable without spoiling the character of the property. Back inside within half an hour. That's exactly why experience matters with this kind of work.
