Hi, I’m Andy
Hi, I’m Andy. I’ve been running my own businesses for over 12 years now.
I started NOPAS here in Poole as a Locksmith business helping with lockouts, lock changes, uPVC and burglary repairs and smart locks, for homes and landlords.
I’m a qualified locksmith, I hold the NCFE Advanced Certificate in Locksmithing (Level 4). When you call, you get me or one of my own engineers, never an agency stranger turning up unsure of the price. Between my team we’ve four decades in the trade, every one of us is DBS checked, and I’m rated 9.96/10 on Checkatrade. Go and read the reviews before you ring me.
No call-out fee and I will I tell you the price before I start.
Bournemouth questions I get asked
I'm a landlord with an HMO, can you change the locks between tenants?+
Yes, this is one of my most common Bournemouth jobs. I'll change or rekey as many doors as you need, cut the keys, and fit British Standard anti-snap locks so the property passes insurance. I can sort one flat or a whole block.
I'm locked out of a flat in a converted house, can you still get me in?+
Almost always without any damage. Converted Victorian houses often have older or mixed locks, which is exactly the kind of door non-destructive entry is made for. Forcing it risks the communal door and the frame, so don't.
My rented place needs the locks doing for insurance, what do I actually need?+
For most front doors that's a British Standard BS3621 mortice or a TS007 anti-snap euro cylinder. I'll tell you exactly what your door takes and fit it the same visit.
Do you cover the student lets around Winton and Charminster?+
I do, and September is busy with them. Lost keys, lockouts and tenancy changes, I turn those round quickly so a house full of students isn't left unsecured.

Ask Andy to call you back
I'm Andy, a local locksmith covering the whole of Bournemouth from my base just over in Poole. That's BH1 and BH2 in the town centre, BH8 and BH9 through Charminster and Springbourne, and BH10 and BH11 up in Kinson, Throop and Iford. You get me or one of my own engineers on the job, never an agency middleman.
Bournemouth has a particular kind of housing stock and it shapes the work. The town is full of classic Victorian terraces, semis and big converted houses, and a lot of those have been split into flats and HMOs, especially round Charminster, Springbourne and Boscombe. That means a huge number of doors, a lot of tenants coming and going, and a lot of lockouts and lock changes. Out towards Kinson and West Howe you're into the postwar and council-built estates where uPVC and composite doors dominate, and in the centre it's apartment blocks, communal entrances and the student lets that fill up every September. I'm also seeing more and more issues with the modern composite and uPVC doors on the newer developments built over the last ten to fifteen years. I carry parts and locks for all of it.
What I get called out for in Bournemouth
The regulars across town are:
- Lockouts on flats and HMOs, day and night, especially the centre and Charminster
- End-of-tenancy lock changes for landlords and letting agents
- uPVC and composite doors playing up on the Kinson and West Howe estates
- Burglary repairs and securing a property fast after a break-in
- Bringing rented properties up to British Standard for insurance
How I cover Bournemouth
I'm usually with people in central Bournemouth, Charminster and Springbourne inside 20 to 30 minutes, a touch longer up to Kinson, Throop and Iford or out east towards Boscombe and Southbourne. The town centre one-way system and the summer seafront traffic are the two things that can add a few minutes, and I'll give you an honest arrival time when you call rather than a sales line.
I cover the Town Centre, Charminster, Springbourne, Winton, Moordown, Kinson, Throop, Iford, Boscombe, Pokesdown, Westbourne and Southbourne. If you're in the BH1 to BH11 postcodes, you're on my patch.
A recent Bournemouth call-out
I had a call not long ago from a customer who was completely locked out, the door pulled shut behind them with the keys still inside. As always, the first thing I did when I arrived was a quick survey of the property. Sometimes there's an open window, a side gate or another way in that's simply been overlooked, and I'll always recommend the least disruptive and most cost-effective option first.
There was no easy way in this time, so I assessed the lock and door setup and used specialist opening tools to manipulate the locking mechanism and get the door open, with no damage to the lock or the door and no replacement parts needed. The customer was back inside within 30 minutes of my arrival and relieved it was that straightforward. Another happy customer, and on to the next one.
